Letter for Lessons 5 - 8

Dear Student

We hope that on receiving this second series of lessons, you find yourself in good health, both spiritual and physical and that you are finding our course useful in the study of the Bible. Together with this letter you will find lessons 5 to 8 of the Bible Course and the corresponding questionnaire. These lessons deal with the Kingdom of God, the children of Israel and the law which God gave to Moses.

You will see that the Kingdom of God is not something which is beyond this world, in the sky or in the clouds, but something which will be established on the earth when Jesus Christ returns. You will learn how the Kingdom will solve all the problems of the world. When reading the history of the children of Israel, we are admonished; studying their example we can avoid the errors they committed and also the punishment that came upon them. The Law Moses was given to emphasise that man cannot save himself. Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation. Remember that it is necessary that you return the Question Sheet for qualification. The corrected questionnaire will be returned to you with the next set of lessons. Also remember to ask for God's blessing before starting your study. Our search for God must consist in both asking for His help and studying His Word.

Psalms 119 has some petitions which we can repeat before starting our study: "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law" (Psalms 119:18) "Make me to understand the way of thy precepts; So shall I talk of thy wondrous works." (Psalms 119:27) Thus, praying and reading you will come to a knowledge of the LORD which will change your whole life.
